Some Madonna fans may like to tout the fan that Madonna does not, allegedly, abuse drugs or alcohol. I recall that Maddy herself used to bring these points up in interviews. Madonna would say how it takes only one shot of alcohol to make her pass out.

And then, come to find out, Madonna admits that one of her new favorite pastimes is getting drunk.

Ah, what a wonderful example and role model Madonna is for young women. And according to one Mr Jock McGregor of Facing the Challenge

And then a little while later I read another survey that asked young girls who they modeled themselves on. The two at the top of the list were Madonna and Princess Di - a remarkable contrast of images.

Maybe this will spur Camille Paglia on to make another one of her 'Isn't Madonna Great' books and articles.

If you are a Madonna fan thinking, "So what, who cares if Maddy gets drunk?," you have only served to make one of my anti-Maddy points, and I thank you for it.

Madonna reveals fondness for ale

Madonna has revealed that she loves real ale, getting drunk with husband Guy Ritchie in Soho pubs and feeding ducks in the park.

She makes the revelations on tonight's edition of Friday Night With Jonathan Ross, as she talks about life in London.

The star, who now lives in Marylebone, jokes she's a cheap date because she gets drunk on half a pint: "I didn't start drinking until I met Guy Ritchie - he's been a wonderful influence on me.

"I get drunk with him. I become one of those English drunken girls. All it takes is half of a pint. I'm a cheap date, yeah. You don't have to take me anywhere fancy. I was last drunk a couple of days ago. We went to the Dog and Duck in Soho.

"I wear flat caps and I speak low and order a pint of Timothy Taylor."

Talking about married life, she says: "He just calls me "wife" and "the missus". I call him "my old man"."

She said that when she first moved to London to be with her British husband she felt she had the poorer side of the bargain.

But she added: "Then I just really just fell in love with it. I figured out how to drive on the wrong side of the road and I have learned to love ale. Timothy Taylor's the best - real ale."

She went on: "Then my husband decides he wants to make a living in America. So now I'm over there grumpy about the fact that I'm not over here."

"I like to ride my bike. I'll go to the park to feed the ducks. We go to the movies, we read a lot of books. We talk to each other. My husband likes to talk."
